The Los Angeles Dodgers have dominated their way to back-to-back World Series titles. Last year, they coasted to a dominant title over the New York Yankees. This year, the Dodgers were pushed to seven games against the Toronto Blue Jays. But the end result was the same.
Now the Dodgers could turn to free agency and the trade block to upgrade their roster to further separate themselves at the top of the league.
Eric Treuden of Just Baseball recently predicted the Dodgers would add New York Mets pitcher Edwin Diaz in free agency this offseason. Diaz is projected to sign a solid $88 million contract, per Jim Bowden of The Athletic.

“The Dodgers are in position to frustrate fans all over the world by throwing their money around and landing basically any of the best-available free agents this winter,” Treuden wrote. “In signing DÃaz, they’d be upgrading their bullpen with the very best arm on the market and accomplishing one of the very few goals they’ll realistically have this offseason.”
The Dodgers need to add to their bullpen more than anything else. The postseason proved to the entire league that the Dodgers had a massive hole in the unit.
Adding Diaz would be the perfect move for the Dodgers. He’s one of the best closers in the game right now, and Los Angeles has the money to sign him. It might be difficult for the Dodgers to steal him from the Mets, but it’s certainly possible.
