The first official day of the Winter Meetings is over, with things set to get busier over the next couple of days with the MLB Draft Lottery and the Rule 5 Draft on the threshold. There haven’t been any serious rumors to discuss — well, other than David O’Brien of The Athletic reporting that the Braves would be open to giving up the compensatory pick that they received for Drake Baldwin if there was a free agent who turned down the QO and it made sense for the Braves.
That last part is why the Braves would be open to letting the pick go if they had to (especially considering that they could end up with a very high position in next year’s MLB Draft, anyways) since that’s a very interesting wrinkle to think about when it comes to the free agent market. Either way, we’ll see if something comes of this.
