Shortstop Geraldo Perdomo has committed to play for the Dominican Republic in the tournament, according to Abriendo Sports.
Perdomo, who has played with the Diamondbacks for the past four seasons, enters the WBC after a breakout year. His role as one of the club’s best infielders and a steady presence in the heart of the lineup positions him as a key piece for the Dominican team.

In 2025 with Arizona, the shortstop has posted career highs in home runs (20), batting average (.290) and RBIs (100). Perdomo will undoubtedly be a spark for his home country as it looks to contend against the world’s best.
In recent seasons, Perdomo has become a fan favorite. Whether it’s his clutch at-bats, crafty defense or infectious personality on and off the field, seeing him on the international stage will show a larger audience what Diamondbacks fans already know.

Other D-Backs players committed to the WBC include Corbin Carroll, who will play for Team USA, while Gabriel Moreno has hinted at joining Venezuela. Ketel Marte, Perdomo’s fellow countryman, played in the last Classic but has not announced whether he will participate in the upcoming one.

While the name on his jersey won’t be Arizona next spring, watching a player who has developed in the Valley showcase his skills for his home country proudly will be a welcome sight for fans.
