Ketel Marte has been in MLB trade rumors for several weeks now. The Arizona Diamondbacks have been open to trading Marte to reduce payroll and inject young talent into the organization. As of now, the Diamondbacks haven’t closed in on a trade; however, the second baseman’s market is starting to warm.

Marte’s trade market is “heating up” at the MLB Winter Meetings, with the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, and Toronto Blue Jays labeled as fits, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman. Any trade package for the superstar second baseman would have to be massive, as Arizona doesn’t feel the need to trade him.

In 2025, Marte hit 28 home runs and drove in 72 runs over 126 games with Arizona. It marked the second straight season that Marte made the NL All-Star team in July. The 32-year-old superstar is regarded as one of the best position players on the trade market this winter.

The Red Sox, Mariners, and Blue Jays would benefit from acquiring Marte, as all three teams are looking for more power within their lineup. In fact, if Marte went to any of those teams, it would drastically impact the free agent market. For now, Marte is still a Diamondback, but the trade rumors are starting to get louder.
