HAMMOND — Former Southeastern Louisiana University baseball student-athlete TJ Salvaggio has signed a professional contract with the Lake Country Dockhounds of the American Association.

Based in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, just west of Milwaukee, the Dockhounds turned in the best overall record in the American Association’s East Division during the 2025 season. An MLB-partner league, the American Association features 12 teams throughout the Upper Midwest and Canada.

An All-Conference and All-Academic shortstop as a senior this past season, Salvaggio hit .320 with 11 doubles, a pair of triples, 13 home runs and 48 RBI. The senior from Slidell, Louisiana led the squad with 50 runs scored. He was also a semifinalist for the Brooks Wallace Award, given annually to the top DI shortstop.

Following the completion of his collegiate career, Salavaggio played for the State College Spikes of the MLB Draft League this past summer. In 41 games, he hit .294 with three doubles, one triple, four home runs and 25 RBI. Salvaggio also picked up seven stolen bases and led the team with 28 runs scored.
