Lotte Giants have recruited pitcher coach for the Hanshin Tigers of the Japanese Professional Baseball (NPB). This is to accelerate the development of young pitchers.
Lotte announced on the 12th that it has hired pitcher coach Kanemura Satoru as its general coordinator.
It is evaluated that he is good at bullpen coaching and rotation management strategies and has excellent ability to foster young pitchers. In particular, he contributed to the Central League title by growing both the Hanshin Tigers’ starters and bullpen in the 2025 season. Based on his experience as a player and leader, he will play the role of Lotte Giants’ pitching general coordinator to help foster pitchers.
In addition, he appointed first-team head coach Kang Seok-cheon, defensive coach Lee Hyun-gon, and operation and base coach Cho Jae-young as new coaches, and recruited hitting coach Jeong Kyung-bae to Futures. The dream team will be accompanied by a brave battery coach and Jin Hae-soo, a rehabilitation coach.

Coach Kang Seok-cheon began his leadership career as a playing coach in 2002, has experience as a Futures coach, and is a leader who won the title as a head coach for the first team. Coach Lee Hyun-gon has a high overall understanding of baseball, including defensive guidance, hitting and operations. In addition, coach Cho Jae-young has been in charge of the operation-base for many years and is considered a leader who has overwhelmingly increased the steal and success rate of the operation.
Coach Chung Kyung-bae is a leader who can help Futures players grow based on his batting coaching experience gained throughout several teams. Coach Yongdeok has expertise in fostering catchers through young leadership, and coach Jin Hae-soo has the advantage of having already formed relationships with Futures players and having a high understanding of the rehabilitation process.

Director Park Joon-hyuk said, `Kanemura, who fostered excellent pitching resources for the Hanshin Tigers in the Japanese professional baseball, will serve as the general coordinator of pitchers and a leader who can greatly help the club develop long-term.’
As for head coach Kang Seok-cheon, he added, `Based on his abundant experience and strong leadership, we judged that he could be the center of the coaching staff and the team.’
