HOUSTON — Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña just made an off-the-field play that’s making headlines and breaking hearts. The shortstop and his girlfriend, professional soccer player Julia Grosso, shared Instagram photos of their engagement on Friday.

One photo shows Peña on one knee in front of Grosso on a St. Lucia beach covered in rose petals.

“A lifetime with you.💍,” Grosso commented.

Another pic shows the happy couple kissing as Grosso shows off her stunning diamond engagement ring.

Astros fans curious about Grosso may be surprised to learn she’s a star in her own right, and her resume is as impressive as her highlight reels.

The pair went Instagram official back in December and have since shared a few snaps, including one with Peña wearing a #7 Rosso jersey to support his future fiancée at a Chicago Red Stars soccer match.
