This is a PREDICTION, not a REPORT.
It now seems possible that Tyler Glasnow could be on the move, given the recent reports coming out. If Glasnow is traded, one team that needs to pick up the phone is the Boston Red Sox.
According to a recent article from ESPN, Alden Gonzalez wrote this about the possibility of Glasnow being dealt in his takeaway from the winter meetings.
“Tyler Glasnow’s name has come up in conversations, and the Dodgers would not be opposed to moving him…the quality of his stuff continues to tantalize executives throughout the industry, and there are certainly a fair share of teams that will bank on him staying healthy enough to make it worthwhile.”
At 32 years old, this comes as a surprise but not a shock. Glasnow is a fantastic player right now, but if the Los Angeles Dodgers don’t see him as part of their long-term plans, trading him away now is a good idea.

Tyler Glasnow Trade Proposal to the Boston Red Sox
Before we dive into a mock trade for Glasnow, here are two important contract details that need to be brought up. First is Glasnow. As of now, Glasnow is on a five-year, 136,562,500 dollar deal with the Dodgers. That leaves him to become a free agent in 2029.
On the other side, you have Brayan Bello, who’s going to need to be the centerpiece of this deal. Bello is on a six-year deal worth 55 million dollars. In that case, Bello is set to become a free agent in 2031.
In this mock trade idea, the Dodgers would just need to give up Glasnow. On the Red Sox side, they should be giving up at least Bello, Franklin Arias (24th ranked overall prospect), Payton Tolle (28th ranked overall prospect), and another small piece if necessary.
For both sides, you can see the value. At only 26 years old, Bello had 2.5 WAR, a 3.35 ERA, and 1.236 WHIP. When looking at Baseball Savant as well, Bello had a Pitching Run Value mark of four (52nd percentile).
Compare that to Glasnow, who had a Pitching Run Value of 10 (79th percentile), 1.9 WAR, 3.19 ERA, and 1.096 WHIP. While Glasnow is clearly the better pitcher, the other factors make the two not wildly far off.
Other Tyler Glasnow Landing Spots
The other main landing spot for Glasnow is the Detroit Tigers, and that idea was actually covered by Matt Levine of TWSN. Levine wrote that, “rumors around ace Tarik Skubal, and maybe we could see the two arms swapped for one another.”
If Glasnow doesn’t end up heading to Boston, a deal around those lines could make a lot of sense. The only reason that’s not my number one option for Glasnow is that the Dodgers may believe they can land Tarik Skubal once he becomes a free agent.
Tyler Glasnow Stats
2025 was a good year for Glasnow, but let’s look at his 2024 stats as well. In 2024, Glasnow had a 1.9 WAR, 3.49 ERA, and most impressively, a 0.948 WHIP.
All things considered, the mock trade created above seems extremely fair for both sides. It wouldn’t shock me at all if the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox were able to work out a deal for Tyler Glasnow.
