Trading for a young talent like Edward Cabrera that can be a top-end starter would help further solidify the Orioles as contenders ahead of the 2026 season. Over five seasons with the Marlins, Cabrera has a 4.07 ERA, 1.309 WHIP, and 478 strikeouts. Just in the 2025 season, Cabrera had a, 8-7 record with a 3.53 ERA, 1.228 WHIP, and 150 strikeouts.
Edward Cabrera is just 27 years old, and with having shown constant improvement in each season so far, his upside is there to still be tapped into, giving the Orioles a starter at the top of their rotation that they can rely on and build around for the future.
