According to a recent report by Ken Rosenthal, the Phillies are back interested in acquiring Luis Robert, Jr. from the White Sox. This makes some sense as the team continues to look for ways to upgrade their outfield. Center field is still probably the most glaring weakness the team has, probably a bit less son if you believe that Justin Crawford can handle the position. If not, if you believe that Crawford is more suited to go into left field, then chasing someone like Robert makes a little bit of sense.

So, how are we on the ol’ “let’s trade for Luis Robert” question? Is it something the Phillies should be pursuing aggressively? Robert has had two pretty rough seasons in a row, going back to back with an 84 wRC+ in 2024 and 2025, but there is still a tantalizing amount of talent pent up in his game. He can still play a very good defensive center field and stole 33 bases last year….but that lack of production at the plate is something that cannot be ignored.
