First it was first baseman Spencer Torkelson, then it was starting pitcher Reese Olson … and now we can add a third Detroit Tigers player to the offseason marriage squad.

Initially announced on his Instagram page on Tuesday, Dec. 16, Tigers catcher Jake Rogers has married Riley Fertic Rogers. The Tigers shared the news of the marriage on their social media accounts on Wednesday, Dec. 17, three hours after announcing Olson’s marriage to his wife Autumn.

Rogers, 30, is the third Tigers player to have made an offseason marriage announcement in the last two months, with Torkelson and Olson also sharing vows with their new wives. Based on the couple’s wedding registry, they appeared to have gotten married on Saturday, Dec. 6.

Rogers made his MLB debut with the Tigers on July 30, 2019, and is in his sixth year with the team after not playing in 2020 and missing the entire 2022 season to injury. Rogers enters 2026 in his last year before hitting free agency and has been a fan favorite at Comerica Park since becoming the team’s regular catcher from 2023-24.

Rogers stepped into a backup role in 2025, however, with the emergence of starting catcher Dillon Dingler. Rogers slashed .187/.277/.333 over 142 plate appearances for Detroit in 2025, making 39 starts at catcher.

Rogers kept it classy with the wedding photos he shared with his new wife (while also including video footage of a boat for an unknown reason).
