The Cincinnati Reds sent their condolences after the death of retired NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, who died in a plane crash Thursday in North Carolina.Biffle, a semi-retired racecar driver, had a successful career in NASCAR, winning multiple championships and 19 races in 515 starts.Biffle visited Great American Ball Park for the Reds’ game against the Cleveland Guardians on May 17.Biffle was recognized on the field and threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game.“Our hearts are heavy after learning of the loss of NASCAR legend Greg Biffle. We were honored to welcome him to our ballpark earlier this year, and grateful for the moments shared. Sending our deepest condolences to his family, friends and fans,” the Reds said in a social media post.Biffle and members of his family were among seven people who died in the crash, when the plane went down while landing at Statesville Regional Airport, about 45 miles north of Charlotte.The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA are investigating the crash.
