With the Texas Rangers looking forward to the 2026 season with Skip Schumaker in the dugout, players who stood out for the Rangers last season have picked up some accolades.
On Thursday, the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the BBWAA (Baseball Writers Association of America) announced those who won team awards.

Right fielder Wyatt Langford earned Player of the Year honors, becoming the first Rangers player to do so in a 23-and-younger season since Ivan RodrÃguez back in 1995. Langford hit 22 home runs and stole 22 bases last season for Texas.
As for Pitchers of the Year, the award was shared by Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi. Eovaldi went 11-3 with a 1.73 ERA in 22 starts. The Rangers won 15 of 22 starts, including his last nine ones where Eovaldi went 7-0 in them.
When deGrom took the mound, in the 2025 season he managed to come back from injury-riddled 2023 and 2024 seasons. DeGrom went 12-8 with a 2.97 ERA and recorded 185 strikeouts.

As for the Rookie of the Year honor, that goes to Jack Leiter. Leiter finished seventh in the American League Rookie of the Year Award results. He went 10-10 with a 3.86 ERA in 29 starts for Texas. Leiter’s 29 starts and 148 strikeouts were the most by a Rangers rookie since Yu Darvish in 2012.
Corey Seager was awarded the Jim Sundberg Community Achievement Award. Seager, along with his wife Mady put forth a major financial contribution when heavy floods hit Central Texas and a number of people were killed. Seager also has hosted hitting clinics for athletes at the Texas Rangers Youth Academy, too.

Jake Burger won the Harold McKinney Good Guy Award. Burger, in his first season with the Rangers and fifth MLB season overall, hit .236 with 16 home runs and 53 RBIs in a little over 100 games. Burger had two games with two home runs in one game, tying Seager for most multiple home run games with the team last season.
Pitcher Jacob Latz won the Richard Durrett Hardest Working Ranger. Latz set new career highs in innings pitched (85 2/3), starts (eight), and strikeouts (76) in his fourth MLB career.
The Rangers hope that they can get off on the right foot in 2026 with contributions from all these players.
