*This is a prediction*
The San Francisco Giants are going to need to do some reshaping when it comes to their team if they want to get back on track to being a contending team in the National League West Division, and National League as a whole. For the Giants, one way in which they can do so is by making trades this offseason to better structure the team for the future.
The Giants traded with the Boston Red Sox last season for Rafael Devers, who is also signed through 2033. Devers has the first base spot locked up, which complicates things for Bryce Eldridge, who also showed flashes when he was playing.
The value for Bryce Eldridge is high, and with that, he can be a prime trade target for teams to look to acquire, considering the Giants’ situation. A team that can look to capitalize on this possibility is the Boston Red Sox.

San Francisco Giants Trade Bryce Eldridge to the Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox thought Triston Casas would be their first baseman of the future. Casas still has potential, but with him having suffered a left patellar tendon rupture, it led to Boston needing to go with a platoon route to stabilize the production. Boston, if they want to build on their playoff run from last season, will need to find ways to advance their team, which includes finding more consistency at the first base spot, and adding a power hitter to the lineup.
For Boston to solve both their first base spot as well as getting better offensive production, they can look to trade for Bryce Eldridge. With Eldridge being just 21 years old, his upside is immense. Due to Devers’ arrival in 2025, Eldridge only played in 10 games, which led to him having just a .107/.297/.179 slash line with four runs batted in.
His professional stats didn’t flash as much, but his time in the minors showcased his skills better as he had a .275/.358/.503 slash line with 56 home runs and 204 RBIs. The potential is there with Eldridge, and for the Red Sox, getting a young player with his talents who can provide the boost on offense as well as a steady presence at first base like they need, trading for him makes complete sense for them. In return, the Giants can get the necessary assets to build the team out elsewhere to further propel themselves back into contention as well.
