The St. Louis Cardinals have made another major move and traded Willson Contreras to the Boston Red Sox for right-handed pitcher Hunter Dobbins and other minor league pitching prospects.
Jeff Passan was the first I saw who shared word of this new move by the St. Louis Cardinals.
According to MLB Trade Rumors, the St. Louis Cardinals have traded Contreras for right-handed pitcher Hunter Dobbins. Their report says “multiple minor league pitchers” will also be headed to St. Louis and that the Cardinals are adding some money to the deal.
Ken Rosenthal has added details of the other minor leaguers heading to St. Louis.
ESPN reporting the St. Louis Cardinals are sending $8 million dollars to the Red Sox to complete this deal. Jesse Rogers added that Willson received an additional $1 million dollars to waive his no-trade clause.
