The Detroit Tigers are coming off a fantastic season. They made it to the postseason for the second year in a row, and the front office is looking to make that three times in a row in 2026.Â
However, they could use some upgrades over the offseason. While some of their younger talent has been great offensively, they could use another impactful bat to help stabilize the lineup.
A high-contact hitter would be something that would greatly improve the club’s future outlook. The question is, who would the club target?

Tigers named potential landing spot for ex-Marlins, Twins sluggerÂ
One player still seeking a new opportunity is Luis Arraez. The former Miami Marlins and Minnesota Twins slugger is on the open market and still has yet to sign a new deal.Â
His high-contact rate would work well in Detroit. He could slide over to first base and take over for Spencer Torkelson, whom the team has been a bit wary of.Â
Bleacher Report’s Zachary Rymer believes Luis Arraez would be a great option for the Tigers.
“This is a lifetime .317 hitter with three batting titles to his name. He also entered the market hotter than his overall line would suggest, as he recovered from a slow start to hit a decidedly more Arraez-like .310 in the second half.”
Arraez did struggle to start the year, but found his groove during the second half. While he has regressed a bit, he still has the skills at the plate to be a key contributor for a postseason hopeful club.
But the Tigers are not the only team that makes for an ideal landing spot for Arraez. Rymer also mentions that the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Texas Rangers are other potential landing spots for the three-time batting champion.Â
