*PREDICTION*
Following a very successful year, the Seattle Mariners entered the offseason with a lot of work to do. Seattle had a few crucial players entering free agency, and the front office made quick work to retain Josh Naylor on a massive contract.
But this team still has a few more players that they would like to keep around, while also looking across the league to see how they can upgrade. Seattle came within one game of finally getting to the World Series this year, and it seems to have the organization very excited for the future of the team.
Overall, the Mariners have a lot of talent on the roster already, but like any team, they can always upgrade in different spots to maximize their chance to win. Seattle doesn’t have a lot of holes, but there are areas that could use some improvement for the Mariners to be even more formidable next year.
The corner spot is the biggest concern for Seattle in the outfield, and this could see the front office look to make some moves. The Mariners have to fix the holes across the roster if they want any chance to make another serious playoff run next season.
But how the Mariners front office goes about this remains to be seen. However, Seattle hasn’t been shy about making big moves in the past, and we could see it take place again this winter.

Harrison Bader Heads Over to Seattle Mariners
One option for the Mariners to consider if they want to upgrade the outfield rotation is veteran righty Harrison Bader. Bader has been a hot name on the free agent market this year following a very nice season in 2025.
Bader split time between the Minnesota Twins and the Phillies this year, and it should see him land a nice contract this winter. In the year, Bader hit .277 with 17 home runs and 54 runs batted in overall.
The veteran was electric once he got to the Phillies, and he was a major reason why they found success down the stretch. His numbers humped up heavily once he got to Philadelphia, and there is some internet in him returning.
But the Phillies are focused on other names right now, and this could open the door for a team like the Mariners to strike gold with Bader. With the Phillies, Bader slashed .305/.361/.463, showing some impressive abilities at the plate.
If the Mariners could add his bat to the lineup, it could help push this team further next season, maybe even into the World Series. Bader is also good defensively, so this would be an addition to help fully round out the roster.
The veteran is a strong option for any team, and he could end up being a sneaky signing after all is said and done. Seattle would do well by landing him, and it’s something that the front office should be considering doing this offseason.
