Along with Lee Jung-hoo, key San Francisco Giants players will visit Korea.
The Major League Baseball (MLB) secretariat said on the 24th that “San Francisco’s key figures and players will visit Korea for two days from January 6th to 7th, 2026.”
San Francisco, a prestigious club representing Major League Baseball, is a traditional powerhouse with eight World Series wins since its foundation in 1883, and has a global fan base based in San Francisco. It is evaluated as a club that pursues values beyond baseball through excellent front management, youth development system, and active exchanges with local communities.

In particular, San Francisco has a deep relationship with Korean baseball. Ahead of the 2024 season, KBO League star Lee Jung-hoo was recruited and received great attention from Korean fans, and with this opportunity, he has continued to expand his contact with Korean baseball fans. This visit to Korea is also seen as a symbolic move that goes beyond just promoting the club and shows respect for Korean baseball and culture and a long-term willingness to exchange.
Major San Francisco players who will come to Korea this time will participate in various cultural programs such as traditional Korean play experience and visiting traditional markets on the 6th to experience Korean culture firsthand. On the 7th, a baseball clinic for high school baseball players will be held jointly hosted by MLB and San Francisco. Through this schedule, the MLB Secretariat intends to strengthen the global branding of the league and clubs along with expanding the participation of Major League Baseball clubs in the Asian market.
The visit to Korea will be accompanied by key club figures such as San Francisco CEO Larry Bear, President Buster Posey, General Manager Jack Minasian and Manager Tony Bytelo, and Lee Jung-hoo and Willy Adames will accompany the players. Former San Francisco Hwang Jae-gyun will also participate in the baseball clinic.
About 60 players were invited to the clinic from Hwimoon High School, Lee Jung-hoo’s alma mater, and Deoksu High School, the winner of the Blue Dragon Flag in 2025. These players will be able to experience real-world training methods and position-specific technical know-how used in the Major League field, as well as live advice on the preparation process, attitude as a player, routine management, and approach to the game required on the Major League stage.
