The Orioles would probably have to include infielder Jackson Holliday, but the back-to-back AL Cy Young Award winner could lead them to a World Series berth next year.

Hunter Greene moved to Baltimore in stunning trade

Hunter Greene is a step down from Skubal, but this might be more intriguing. Greene has four more years of team control and has the ingredients to become a Cy Young-caliber pitcher. The Cincinnati Reds would have to be blown away with an offer, making Holliday or another top prospect a necessity in the deal. Greene would become Baltimore’s ace pitcher and help its bid in the postseason.
Orioles acquire Freddy Peralta from Milwaukee

Freddy Peralta is more likely to be moved than Greene, but has the same risks as Skubal at a lesser price. Peralta is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2026 MLB season, and the Milwaukee Brewers might be looking to maximize his value before free agency. The Orioles could include infielder Coby Mayo and bring Peralta to Baltimore this offseason.

In fact, it would be a historic trade as the Washington Nationals haven’t traded with Baltimore since the organization moved to D.C.
