COVENTRY – The calendar said May, but the weather felt more like March, early March at that, which made Liliana Bell’s go-ahead home run in the bottom of the sixth inning all the more appreciated.

Facing East Providence in their regular season finale on a frigid Wednesday afternoon, Coventry broke a 1-1 tie in their final at-bat, plating five runs in total en route to a 6-2 victory.

“It’s kind of what this group does,” head coach Chris Daingault said, his team closing out the regular season with a record of 12-6, while the Townies dropped to 8-10. “They get one, two, three at-bats and they figure a pitcher out.”
