Former FSU pitcher Luke Weaver has signed a two-year contract with the New York Mets, who announced the move on Tuesday. According to Joel Sherman of the MLB Network, the deal is worth $22 million.

Weaver, who played at FSU from 2012-14, played for the New York Yankees from 2023-25. He had a 3.22 ERA across 162.2 innings in his three seasons with the Yankees, serving as a key piece of their bullpen.

The St. Louis Cardinals drafted Weaver with the 27th overall pick in the 2014 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut with them in 2016, playing for them until 2018 when they traded him to the Arizona Diamondbacks ahead of the 2019 season. He spent three seasons in Arizona before being traded to the Kansas City Royals during the 2022 season.

He was unable to stick and played for the Cincinnati Reds, Seattle Mariners, and the Yankees during the 2023 season. He established a role in the Yankees bullpen in 2023. He has a 4.74 ERA and a 38-49 record in 270 appearances during his 10-year career.
