CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Rockport police and the Texas Rangers are investigating a fatal shooting that left one person dead and another hospitalized on Christmas Day, according to the Rockport Police Department. 

Officers were called around 12:45 p.m. to a residence in the 700 block of North Ann Street, where they found two people who had been shot, according to officials. 

Officials said one of the individuals was pronounced dead at the scene. The second person was taken by EMS to an area hospital for treatment. Their condition has not been released.

Police said the incident appears isolated to the residence and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation is active with assistance from the Texas Rangers. No additional details were released at this time.
