Katia Lindor, the wife of Mets superstar Francisco Lindor, was listed this week as a member of New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s inaugural committee.
This has reignited online speculation about whether political differences involving Donald Trump once created tension inside the Mets clubhouse.
According to CBS News, Mamdani’s inaugural committee is made up of 48 “people from across fields and communities” and are “New Yorkers whose creativity, leadership and lived experience reflect the full life of the city.”
This revelation has some wondering on social media if recent news claiming that differing political views – specifically about Trump – created friction between Mets teammates Lindor and Brandon Nimmo.
New York sports radio legend Mike Francesa made the stunning revelation on his podcast on Dec. 16, saying that, “the Nimmo-Lindor thing, my understanding, was political, had to do with Trump.”
Nimmo, according to Francesa, is pro-Trump, while Lindor is against.
The bombshell came as Francesa was discussing various relationships within the Mets organization. He doubled down on his claim, acknowledging how extraordinary it sounds while insisting his sources confirmed this political divide.
“So, Trump splitting up between Nimmo and Lindor. That’s my understanding. It started over Trump,” Francesa continued. “As crazy as that sounds, crazier things have happened.”
