The Atlanta Braves have a new manager in Walt Weiss, and that means roster changes are bound to happen this offseason to try getting the team fully back on track to being a playoff-caliber team. One of the tough decisions that the Braves will need to make surrounds Ozzie Albies.
*Prediction*
Ozzie Albies is on the first of his two club option years, making his future unclear as he is nearing the end of his contract. Between this, as well as some injury concerns over the last few seasons, the Braves could look to move on from Albies to help them in acquiring the talent necessary to restructure the team for the future.
If this ends up being the case, the team that should be reaching out to the Braves to trade for Ozzie Albies is the San Francisco Giants.

As the San Francisco Giants continue to look to turn things around, they will need to continue to look to improve the roster this offseason, and one key spot that needs to draw their attention is the second base spot. Casey Schmitt hasn’t been too effective there, and recently underwent wrist surgery that could impact his start for 2026. Behind him is Christian Koss and Tyler Fitzgerald, neither of which the Giants should be turning to as everyday starters.
Instead, the Giants should look to trade for Ozzie Albies as their solution at second base.
When it comes to Ozzie Albies, he is coming off a season in which he had a .240/.306/.365 slash line over the entire season, which would be a career-worst. Yet, he finished strong producing a .272/.330/.439 slash line over the final stretch of the season, which is more on par with his 2023 production that saw him have a .280/.336/.513 slash line.
If Ozzie Albies can have a fully healthy season, he can provide the boost in the batting lineup from the second base spot that the Giants need. One thing is for sure, San Francisco just needs any type of spark to get fully back on track, and a trade for Albies would provide that.
