The San Francisco Giants head to our nation’s capitol today to begin a three-game series against the Washington Nationals.

Taking the mound for the Giants will be right-hander Landen Roupp, who enters today’s game with a 4.11 ERA, 3.77 FIP, with 47 strikeouts to 16 walks in 46 innings pitched over nine starts. His last start was one of his best, in the Giants’ 1-0 win over the Athletics on Saturday, in which he allowed just five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings.

He’ll be facing off against Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore, who enters today’s game with a 3.67 ERA, 2.95 FIP, with 84 strikeouts to 18 walks in 56.1 innings pitched over 10 starts. His last start was a bit rough, in the Nationals’ 4-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles last Friday, in which he allowed two runs on 10 hits with nine strikeouts and two walks in three and two thirds innings.
