Tyler Mahle was a key piece of the Texas Rangers’ starting rotation in 2025. He’ll reportedly continue his playing career elsewhere.
According to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand and Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Mahle has agreed to a one-year deal with the San Francisco Giants. Mahle had an impressive start to the 2025 season before shoulder fatigue slowed him down.
He started 16 games in 2025, posting a 2.18 ERA in 86.2 innings pitched.
Mahle originally signed with the Rangers before the 2024 season began. He was in the midst of Tommy John surgery recovery and dealt with multiple shoulder issues in his two-year tenure with the team.

San Francisco will be Mahle’s fourth major league stop. He started his career with the Reds, spending six years in Cincinnati before he was traded to Minnesota in 2022. He spent two years with the Twins before signing with the Rangers.
