Toronto’s Animl Steakhouse offered Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette free steak for life if he stays with the team.

The restaurant posted a heartfelt Instagram letter emphasizing commitment to the city and team.

Bichette, a fan of Animl, has been with the Jays since being drafted in 2016 and was key in their recent World Series run.

Fans reacted positively online, praising the gesture and joking about the lifetime steak offer.

A Toronto restaurant is offering Blue Jays star Bo Bichette a lifetime deal in hopes of enticing him to stay with the team as he’s currently a free agent.

On Monday, Animl Steakhouse and Cocktail Den posted a heartfelt letter to the shortstop on Instagram, with the caption, “Here’s an offer we hope you can’t resist.”

The steakhouse then goes on to offer him free steak for life if he stays with the Jays.

“At Animl, we believe in commitments that last – the craft, the care, and the city we call home. In that spirit, we ask you to re-sign with the Toronto Blue Jays – and consider this our promise:

Steak for life on us. No negotiations. No fine print. Just a standing reservation at our table.”

The steakhouse ended the letter saying, “Stay in Toronto. We’ll handle dinner, you bring home the hardware.”

Last summer. Bichette told CBC News Toronto that his favourite restaurant is Animl, saying “It’s really good, I love it.”

Located at Spadina Ave. and Wellington St., the upscale restaurant specializes in dry-aged steaks.

Bichette has been with the Jays since they drafted him in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft. He then made his MLB debut with the team in July 2019, and has been a star player who helped the team make it to the World Series last year. But, as of this month Bichette is a free agent.

Over the weekend, the Jays signed 29-year-old Kazuma Okamoto to a four-year, $60-million contract. However, by signing the third-baseman, many fans are speculating that the Jays could shuffle their roster and potentially fill in Bichette’s shortstop spot.
