As part of its new baseball studio show, the network is reportedly targeting one of the most accomplished pitchers of all-time: Clayton Kershaw.
Kershaw, who retired after the Los Angeles Dodgers won the 2025 World Series, is a future Hall of Famer and considered one of the best pitchers of his generation. He retired with one MVP award, three Cy Young Awards, and 11 All-Star Game appearances in an 18-year career, all in Los Angeles.
According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, Kershaw “would likely work select events if a deal comes to fruition.”
In his later years, Kershaw was frequently “mic’d up” for live in-game hits, and blended keen analysis with a natural, unforced delivery. He has the talent for the job — but does he have the time?

Kershaw has spoken often about his desire to spend more time with his family in his first year out of baseball. He and his wife, Ellen, welcomed their fifth child in December.
While it would be exciting to see Kershaw flexing his analytical muscles in a regular gig, his on-camera appearances might be limited in his first year after playing. Kudos to NBC for recognizing — and pursuing — a strong talent.
