(La Porte County, IN) – A La Porte area man purchased an expensive baseball card online but the package it was supposed to be in was empty.

 

La Porte County Police said the man reported buying a Bowman Chrome brand Ichiro Suzuki rookie card from 2001 for just over $4,000. 

 

Five days before Christmas, police said the man opened the package left at his doorstep in Coolspring Township but the card was not inside.  The man told officers he noticed the seal on the package was broken when he went to open it.

 

He’s currently trying to seek a refund from the online store where he made the purchase, police said.Â
