Now you have this interesting report about the Phillies’ interest in Bichette.
Which I love, that fit.
I I I saw that as one, Even with the roster machinations that they clearly feel like they need to address if they Do sign him.
By the way, that’s another example.
You know, you see the reporting and it’s like, “The Phillies cannot sign Bichette and Realmuto.
Why not?
Like they could, but clearly there’s a, There’s a financial level where they’re like, “No, we’re only comfortable doing this.”
“We’re going to have to move Bohm around, maybe move Stott to third,” so on and so forth.
Of the developments that we’ve had in the last week or so, Including non-Dodgers teams, what has maybe raised your eyebrows about?

You know, certain team connections, and maybe how do you see this shaking out?
I mean, the Bichette-Phillies thing has been the most interesting thing to me.
A, because that’s the kind of development that could kind of shake up the stasis that we’re In Yeah.
… And start actually leading to guys getting signed.
And the expectations, right?
And the, like, where we thought teams mightwhere guys could fit going into it, Because now you might have multiple teams ending up with none of these guys.
And this one has some layers, right?
Like, is this just a bluff to try to get things Moving with J.T.
Realmuto?

Is it a situation that they approach where they really want Bichette and they’re gonna get him?
Even if they’re not certain they can do the other moves that might be required to free up the payroll space?
Or do they need to make sure they can do that?
Before they really make a serious run at him?
Obviously, there’s the Don Mattingly tie.
The thing that’s interesting to me about that is, you know, Being around that, that NLDS last year with the Phillies’ loss to the Dodgers, There was this overriding mood on the Phillies’ side that it was a window Closing, right?
That it was thethe beginning of the end for This team.

And for as good as J.T.
Realmuto is as important as he is, I think it’s just, Like the culture of that team and, obviously, what he means to that pitching staff.
I think if you look at it as a fellow contender in the National League, If the Phillies were to get Bo Bichette, especially coming off the season he just had, It suddenly doesn’t feel like the window’s closing quite as fast on them.
And gives them the kind of lineup balance that maybe they were missing last year.
Especially once you got beyond some of the bigger names at the top of it.
So, that one’s really interesting to me.
