Texas came in at No. 3 on D1Baseball’s preseason poll, released on Monday morning, while Texas A&M was ranked 25th.

Eleven members of the 16-team SEC will begin the season in the poll. UCLA, led by superstar shortstop Roch Cholowsky, is the preseason No. 1.

Texas won the SEC regular season title in 2025, its inaugural season in the league. The Longhorns fell flat in the postseason, though, eliminated in the final of the Austin Regional by UTSA in their first season under former Texas A&M coach Jim Schlossnagle

They reloaded with D1Baseball’s third-ranked transfer portal class, with Notre Dame catcher Carson Tinney and Seton Hall outfielder Aiden Robbins leading the way.

He signed D1Baseball’s 18th-ranked transfer portal class, which included star Maryland shortstop Chris Hacopian and FAU pitcher MJ Bollinger.

The Aggies begin their season at home against Tennessee Tech on Feb. 13. The Longhorns host UC Davis in their opener on the same date.
