With first pitch just 32 days away, the Texas A&M baseball program has garnered national notoriety as one of the top teams in the country entering the 2026 season.
According to D1Baseball’s Preseason Top 25, the Aggies are the No. 25 team in college baseball. Texas A&M is one of 11 Southeastern Conference programs ranked in the preseason poll.
Last year’s efforts fell tremendously short of expectations, as the unanimous preseason No. 1 Aggies failed to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021. Second-year head coach Michael Earley has a lot of work to do in getting the program back on track to its winning ways. Earley and company are looking to put the underwhelming campaign in the past with another talented roster of returners and some new faces.
Here is D1Baseball’s full rankings, featuring the Aggies as the projected 25th-best team in the nation.
It wasn’t all gloom and doom for the Aggies in 2025, however. Earley’s squad showed grit and reslience in the school’s first road win over a No. 1 opponent (Tennessee), while also securing series victories over LSU and Arkansas, who faced off in the College World Series Championship Game.

Texas A&M reloaded offensively with the return of Caden Sorrell and the addition of Maryland transfer Chris Hacopian in absence of outfielder Jace LaViolette, who departed for the MLB Draft, but there are still many questions remaining for the pitching rotation. The Aggie bullpen lost 45 starts during the offseason, following a season in which the Maroon and White struggled with injuries and depth on the mound.
These questions will be answered Feb. 13-15, as Texas A&M takes on Tennessee Tech in the season-opening series at Blue Bell Park in Bryan-College Station, Texas.
