The Tigers are back home for the weekend, ready to take on the Cleveland Guardians for the first time since the 2024 MLB postseason. They’re coming off two series wins and currently have an MLB-best record of 33 wins, so it’s a very, very nice time to be a Tigers fan.

In today’s news we look at some of the stats that make this team so good, and then looks at some other news from around baseball, including updates on some former Tigers, and a historic milestone for Salvador Perez, among other things.

Let’s get into it.

Detroit Tigers News:

Since April 17, Riley Greene is hitting .333 with nine home runs, 29 RBI, and a 1.006 OPS.

Over that span he is tied for the AL lead in homers, while ranking 2nd in RBI, 3rd in OPS, and tied for 5th in average. On the season, his 1.5 fWAR ranks 6th among AL outfielders. pic.twitter.com/MyMGth2HLQ
