CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Just hours after the Cincinnati Reds traded a reliever they reportedly acquired another in a separate three-team deal.

Jeff Passan of ESPN reported that late Thursday the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Angels and Reds consummated a deal that sent outfielder Josh Lowe to the Angels, infielder Gavin Lux and right-hander Chris Clark to the Rays and left-handed reliever Brock Burke to Cincinnati.

Burke, 29, had a 3.36 ERA in 61 2/3 innings over 69 appearances last season with the Angels and held left-handers to a .699 OPS. He’s on a one-year deal for $2.325 million.

In 214 career games Burke is 21-12 with a 3.88 ERA with 249 strikeouts in 263 1/3 innings.

Lux was acquired from the Dodgers in January 2025 and posted a -0.2 WAR season, hitting .269 with 5 HR and 53 RBI in 446 at-bats. The 27-year-old split time at designated hitter (59 games), in left field (54 games) and infield (23 games combined at 2B and 3B).

He agreed to a $5.525 million arbitration deal this offseason, so the Reds would reportedly save about $3 million in the deal.

Cincinnati traded right-handed pitcher Yosver Zulueta to the Seattle Mariners for minor league right-hander Dusty Revis.
