“Isiah Kiner-Falefa really makes sense right now for the St. Louis Cardinals,” Gibson said on the Cardinal Territory podcast. “I think he adds another veteran. … I think Kiner adds a different level of experience in the playoffs in different organizations. I think he is a guy that I would absolutely bring in at this point. He is a right-handed bat, whereas you’re gonna have (Nolan Gorman), (Brendan Donovan), (JJ Wetherholt), (Alec Burleson). A lot of lefties on the infield. So you bring in Kiner, he can play any position on the field and he’s a right-handed bat. And if you don’t do that, then I would be in favor of adding to your blank canvas in Luken Baker and giving him the right-handed at-bats at first base and/or (designated hitter) when you need it. And if you don’t do that, then you go to a buddy of mine, Rhys Hoskins, and you bring him in to be the right-handed bat on the line. I think there’s a couple guys we can add here that add to the team on and off the field but don’t necessarily add to the payroll.”
