CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Knothole Foundation in Charlotte celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with a free baseball clinic for boys and girls ages six to 12.

The event took place Monday morning at the Richard “Stick” Williams Dream field in west Charlotte.

The foundation’s co-founder says the event provided a fun environment for kids to learn.

“Coming from a little small town, we didn’t have this kind of stuff to come around to us, and I’m learning more and more day by day, and I feel good to be able to have the kids learn from me,” Co-founder Morris Madden said.

Along with the on-field demonstrations, there were also guest speakers on hand to provide inspirational messages about Dr. King’s legacy.
