LSU lands at No. 2 in the Baseball America Preseason Rankings

Earlier this month, LSU claimed the top spot in the Perfect Game USA Preseason College Baseball Top-25 rankings. The expectations continue to soar as LSU has now received the No. 2 spot in the Baseball America Preseason Top-25 rankings.

Entering his 5th season in Baton Rouge, Johnson owns an impressive overall record of 190-77 (.712), which includes a 68-51 (.571) mark in SEC play. In addition to leading the Tigers to a pair of National Championships, he’s also been named the National Coach of the Year in both 2023 and 2025.

Johnson received well-deserved contract extension and raise during the offseason, and is set to make $3.05 million in 2026. That makes him the highest-paid coach in all of college baseball. With an influx of talent once again, LSU fans everywhere are excited to see what Johnson and the Tigers can do in 2026.
