JoJo Romero

The St. Louis Cardinals have gone on to have one of the more interesting offseason so far as they have gone one to trade many key players like Sonny Gray, Willson Contreras, and Nolan Arenado. With the spot they’re in as a team, they could look to make even more trades still.

*Prediction*

One player the Cardinals could still end up looking to trade is JoJo Romero, and if that is the case, a team that makes sense to acquire him is the Toronto Blue Jays.

St. Louis Cardinals Trade JoJo Romero to the Toronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays are coming off a season in which they went to the World Series, but were eliminated in Game 7 by the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Blue Jays are on the right track, but they need to further add to the team to round out the roster.

They’ve started already by adding to their pitching staff with signing Dylan Cease and Cody Ponce. While the starting rotation is pretty set, they should be looking to add to their relief pitching. How they can accomplish this would be by trading for JoJo Romero.

JoJo Romero has been proven to be reliable as he recorded eight saves in nine opportunities over his last 24 games.

JoJo Romero is specifically coming off a season in which he posted an impressive 2.07 ERA with 55 strikeouts, and eight saves. Romero has been consistent throughout his career so far, and would be a crucial addition for the Blue Jays to make as they look to further close games out better in 2026. While the Cardinals would like to keep Romero, it makes more sense to move on from him now before he hits free agency.
