The St. Louis Cardinals have gone on to have one of the more interesting offseason so far as they have gone one to trade many key players like Sonny Gray, Willson Contreras, and Nolan Arenado. With the spot they’re in as a team, they could look to make even more trades still.

JoJo Romero is specifically coming off a season in which he posted an impressive 2.07 ERA with 55 strikeouts, and eight saves. Romero has been consistent throughout his career so far, and would be a crucial addition for the Blue Jays to make as they look to further close games out better in 2026. While the Cardinals would like to keep Romero, it makes more sense to move on from him now before he hits free agency.
