DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers have signed outfielder Corey Julks to a minor-league deal.

Julks, who turns 30 in February, spent the last two seasons with the Chicago White Sox.

A Texas native, Julks played college ball at the University of Houston and was drafted by the Astros in the eighth round in 2017.

He made the Opening Day roster in 2023 and went on to play 93 games for the Astros that year.

Julks was traded to the White Sox in 2024 and has bounced between Triple-A Charlotte and the big-league club over the last two seasons.

In 525 big-league plate appearances, Julks has hit .234 with a .625 OPS (75 OPS+). He has nine homers and 20 stolen bases.

He’s likely ticketed to provide outfield depth in Triple-A Toledo, offering a right-handed bench bat in case of injuries in Detroit.

Julks is one of only a handful of minor-league position players signed this winter by the Tigers, who have preferred to focus on stocking up arms.
