LOWELL — UMass Lowell baseball head coach Nick Barese has recruited 19 newcomers to the roster for the upcoming 2026 campaign.
The class features 12 freshmen and seven transfer students. One local player, Lowell Catholic High School star Seamus Scott, is part of the class.
The River Hawks welcome freshmen Sean Canavan (Braintree), Cal Chance (Wolcott, Conn.), Josh Doney (Lynn), Colin Ducie (Plymouth), Tyler Dunlea (Attleboro), Thomas Fabbo (Peabody), Jack Forgues (Leominster), Hector Gonzalez (Liverpool, N.Y.), Tyler Kisling (New Milford, Conn.), Christopher Klueber (Bourne), Seamus Scott (Lowell) and Tyler McKillop (Blue Point, N.Y.).
Barese and his staff have also brought in transfers Evan Cornelius (Milford), Joshua Lopez (Nanuet, N.Y.), Frankie DeMaro (Newburgh, N.Y.), Will Melby Jr. (Munster, Ind.), Liam Rose (Voorhees, N.J.), Nicholas Solorzano (El Dorado Hills, Calif.), and Jorge Burgos (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) to the program.
“We are thrilled about the new group added to the roster for the 2026 season,” said Barese. “We are confident as a staff we’ve identified both high school and transfer students that not only bring a high level of talent on the field, but fit our program from a culture standpoint.”
Canavan is a 6-7 infielder from Braintree High. Chance is a 5-11 catcher from St. Paul Catholic High. Doney is a 5-10 left-handed pitcher who starred at St. Mary’s. Duce is a 6-foot right-handed pitcher from Plymouth South. Dunlea is a 6-2 right-handed pitcher from Attleboro High.
Fabbo is a 5-11 infielder who excelled at Winchendon. Forgues is a 6-1 infielder from St. John’s of Shrewsbury. Gonzalez is a 5-7 outfielder from Christian Brothers Academy. Kisling is a 6-1 outfielder who played at Canterbury. Klueber is a 5-10 right-handed pitcher from Tabor Academy. Scott is a 6-foot right-handed pitcher who starred at Lowell Catholic.
McKillop is a 6-1 infielder from Bayport-Blue Point.
The transfers consist of Cornelius, a junior 6-3 right-handed pitcher who played at Rollins; Rose, a senior 6-4 left-handed pitcher who played at Hamilton; Lopez, a senior 5-10 outfielder who attended Thomas Jefferson; DeMaro, a graduate student 6-foot right-handed pitcher from Southern New Hampshire University; Melby Jr., a graduate student 6-5 right-handed pitcher from Indianapolis; Soloranzo, a graduate student 5-11 catcher who played at Stony Brook; and Burgos, a graduate student 6-1 infielder from Southern New Hampshire.
