CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – José Ramírez is staying in Cleveland.
MLB insider Héctor Gómez reported Saturday that the Guardians’ third baseman has signed a seven-year, $175 million extension through the 2032 season.

Ramírez was previously under contract through 2028 in a deal worth $141 million.
The new agreement restructures his current deal and adds $106 million in new value. According to reports, $70 million of the total contract will be deferred.
The seven-time All-Star had another stellar campaign in 2025, reaching the 30-home run mark and 40-steal mark in the same season for the second consecutive year.
Ramírez became the first player in Cleveland franchise history to reach both 250 career home runs and 250 career stolen bases. He finished the 2025 regular season with a team-high 85 RBI, 30 home runs and a .503 slugging percentage.
