Jose Ramirez (33) will extend his contract with the Cleveland Guardians.

Local media such as “ESPN” reported on the 25th (Korea Standard Time) that Ramirez and the Guardians agreed to extend the contract.

Both sides already had a seven-year, $141 million contract left until 2028. The contract was extended until 2032 by readjusting the remaining contract.

As a result, Ramirez will receive 175 million dollars (KRW 254.5 billion) over the next seven years.

It is a condition that $10 million is deferred every year. This included trade veto rights for all clubs, receiving $500,000 more for winning MVP, $300,000 more for ranking second and third in MVP voting, and $150,000 more for ranking fourth and fifth. Incentives for All-Star Gold Glove Silver Slugger, Championship Series MVP, World Series MVP, and others were also included.

Articles related to player welfare have also been added. You can take a round trip by private jet once a year, and additional use is available even if you are selected as an All-Star. On the expedition, you can get an additional room in addition to the suite.

Ramirez has become Cleveland’s franchise star since his big league debut in 2013. He has a batting average of 0.279 on-base percentage of 0.353 slugging percentage of 0.504285 home runs and 949 RBIs in 1,609 games in 13 seasons.

He is a seven-time All-Star and six-time Silver Slugger award winner and six-time MVP votes. He has reached the postseason seven times since 2016.

Ramirez could have gotten more money if he went to market, but he chose honor over money. With this contract, he is more likely to remain as Cleveland’s “one-club man.”
