HARRIS COUNTY, Ga. (WTVM) – A longtime baseball coach and educator is dead following an accident on Saturday.
Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley confirms Harris County high school baseball coach Tony Dimitri died in an accident involving a side-by-side Utility Task Vehicle.
44-year-old Darrell Guthrey was arrested and charged with 1st degree vehicular homicide and driving under the influence following the accident.

Dimitri coached baseball and taught physical education at Harris County high school.
He previously worked in a similar role at Jordan high school in Columbus before moving to Harris County. Dimitri, a 1998 graduate of Jordan, took the Red Jacket baseball team to the state playoffs seven times in his ten-year run with the program.
Dimitri worked at Harris County for more than two years and had improved the baseball team to a 23-win season in 2024-25.
