The Milwaukee Brewers turned lots of heads on Wednesday when they finally decided to part ways with right-handed pitcher Freddy Peralta, as they dealt him to the New York Mets.
But it wasn’t just Peralta who Milwaukee sent to Queens. Right-handed pitcher Tobias Myers was also part of the transaction that netted the Brewers two prospects from the Mets.
Myers had a solid first season in the big leagues in 2024 with Milwaukee, as he posted a 9-6 record with a 3.00 ERAm 3.91 FIP and 1.174 WHIP while recording 127 strikeouts through 27 appearances (25 starts) and 138.0 innings. He also had a 138 ERA+ that year.
But in 2025, he wasn’t able to sustain that form, with Myers spending most of his time in Triple-A. Still, he had his moments, particularly down the stretch of the regular season.
In his last eight appearances before the playoffs, Myers allowed just three earned runs on 11 hits with a home run surrendered and three free passes issued through 13.1 innings and eight appearances on the mound. Over that span, he had a 2.03 ERA.
Myers’ wife reacts to his trade from the Brewers to the Mets
As Myers begins a new chapter in his MLB career, his wife, Leah Angelillo, is also looking forward to what’s ahead for her and the pitcher after Milwaukee.
But before they start settling down in New York, Mrs. Myers shared some posts on social media following the trade.
“excited for this next chapter!” the caption on one of her posts.
In the next IG Story, she thanked Milwaukee and showed excitement for what’s ahead for her and Myers in New York.
“Thank you, Milwaukee. next stop: the Big Apple.”
