AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Baseball season is underway and Amarillo College baseball is getting ready to start their season, but nothing beats the first game like a change in the schedule to get things rolling on the diamond.
It was announced today that the Badgers will now shift their focus to its home opener in Hodgetown. Games that were set for Friday, Jan. 30th and Saturday, Jan. 31st against the number 12 ranked Johnson County Community College have been moved to Feb. 1st and 2nd due to field conditions.
With the change in scheduling, the team has also added two additional games for their season. They will go up against Garden City Community College in a four-game series February 20th and 21st, with both days starting at noon and the second games slated to start at 3 p.m.
Season opener details
Before they can look ahead, they have to face their first opponent of the season, Johnson County Community College, in a four-game series. Both first games start at noon with seven innings, and the second games are set to start at 3 p.m. with nine innings.
