KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals Foundation is providing free admission to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) throughout February in celebration of Black History Month.
Clay County says no April vote on tax for new Kansas City Royals stadium
“We can’t thank the Kansas City Royals and The Royals Foundation enough for once again opening the doors of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum free of charge for the entire month of February and we look forward to seeing the turnstiles spinning,” NLBM President Bob Kendrick said.
“This impactful community outreach initiative makes the museum more accessible for students, particularly those from underserved communities, while also encouraging more people to visit where they have an opportunity to learn about and be inspired by courageous athletes who overcame tremendous social adversity to play the game they loved.”
To accommodate for the anticipated demand, the museum will operate on an extended schedule. The NLBM will be open on Mondays in February from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of Presidents’ Day on Feb. 16, when doors are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally, the museum will open at 9 a.m. every Wednesday throughout February.
Regular operating hours remain Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
Groups of 50 or more may arrange self-guided tours by contacting the NLBM at 816-221-1920 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Smaller groups are welcome to visit without reservations.
