The Los Angeles Angels have quietly been working away at their list of needs this winter. They have made multiple moves that could put them in a better position for the 2026 season.Â
They acquired Graysopn Rodriguez in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles and also acquired Josh Lowe in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays. On top of that, they also struck deals with Vaughn Grissom, Yoan Moncada, Alek Manoah, Kirby Yates, Jordan Romano, and Drew Pomeranz.Â
However, the biggest news may have involved Anthony Rendon. With his retirement announcement in December, the club was able to restructure his rough contract, spreading out the $38 million they still owe him through 2030, which helps their financials out a ton.

Proposed Angels trade sends Jo Adell to KC for All-Star arm
Despite acquiring Grayson Rodriguez from the Orioles, the Angels could still use some starting pitching. With not many options on the open market, Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller suggests they could engage in a trade with the Kansas City Royals, sending Jo Adell their way in exchange for 2025 All-Star Kris Bubic.Â
“Adell doesn’t provide much in terms of overall value, but he certainly provides home runs, hitting 37 of them in 2025. And for a Royals team that only got 37 home runs from its entire outfield last season, he could be a game-changer in the heart of the lineup. Meanwhile, the Halos need all the pitching help they can get if they’re ever going to make it back to the playoffs.”
The Royals could use a power bat, especially in the outfield. This trade would benefit both teams, but the Angels are not the only potential suitors for Bubic. Miller also mentions that the New York Mets could be an option as well as the San Francisco Giants.
