The Kansas City Royals avoided adjusting their salary with first baseman Vinny Pasquantino (28).
Local media such as “MLB.com ” cited sources on the 31st (Korea Standard Time) and reported that the two sides agreed to a two-year contract.
The exact size of the contract is not yet known. MLB.com explains that the guaranteed amount is more than $11 million (15.961 billion won) and it will increase up to $16 million if incentives are included.

The two sides were set to adjust their salaries because they could not narrow their differences over the salary for the 2026 season. The player offered $4.5 million and the club offered $4 million.
Even in the Major League, adjusting salaries is not an easy task. This is because the two sides have to engage in a tug-of-war over their salary ahead of the spring camp. Therefore, even if they cannot agree on salary negotiations, most of them reach an agreement at the halfway point.
And as in this case, they also stamp multi-year contracts. Pasquantino, who is currently recording three years and 101 days of service time, will not worry about adjusting his salary until next year with the contract.
Pasquantino, an 11th-round draft pick in 2019, has a batting average of 0.266 with a 0.330 slugging percentage of 0.456 in 424 games over the past four years in the major leagues.
He played as the main first baseman in 160 games last season and spent his career high season with a .264 on-base percentage of .323 slugging percentage of .475 with 32 home runs and 113 RBIs.
He was the fourth left-handed hitter in the club’s history to have more than 30 home runs in a season, following John Mayberry (1975), George Brett (1985) and Mike Moustakas (2017).
