The bronze statue that immortalized longtime Cincinnati Reds’ broadcaster Marty Brennaman no longer sits outside Great American Ball Park.
But don’t worry, it’ll be back.
The statue, crafted by Cincinnati native Tom Tsuchiya, an internationally recognized sculptor known for his public art that includes statues of Reds players, was installed Sept. 6, 2025, on the north side of Crosley Terrace outside Great American Ball Park.

However, in late October, the bronze statue was damaged, with part of the microphone broken off. A 13-year-old was arrested and charged with vandalism in connection with the newly installed statue.

Former Reds commentator Marty Brennaman’s recently installed statue was damaged outside of Great American Ball Park.
Now, nearly three months after the damage, the statue, which depicted Brennaman sitting in his broadcast booth with his iconic banana phone, was fully removed Jan. 19, according to Rick Walls, executive director of the Reds Hall of Fame & Museum.
All that remains is the cement block that held the statue and faint discoloring from where the bust sat against the wall, which includes Brennaman’s famous quote, “… And this one belongs to the Reds!”

Marty Brennaman’s bronze statue has been completely removed from outside Great American Ball Park after it was damaged in October 2025. The statue is currently being fixed.
When will Marty Brennaman’s statue return to Great American Ball Park?
Great American Ball Park won’t be without the voice of the Reds for long.

Michael Anderson, director of public relations for the Reds, told The Enquirer on Friday that Walls said the statue is currently being repaired and is “expected to be back in place by Opening Day.”
The Reds’ Opening Day is slated for March 26. They’ll face the Boston Red Sox at Great American Ball Park.
The Enquirer reached out to Tsuchiya to learn what repairs are expected on the statue and if anything else will be added or changed.
