SEATTLE, Wash. – The Seattle Mariners have a new uniform in the wardobe next season, returning the “Seattle Steelheads” look for their 50th Anniversary.
The off-white uniforms with a dark grey “SEATTLE” across the chest pay homage to the West Coast Negro League Seattle Steelheads back in 1946. The first time the Mariners wore these jerseys was back in 1995.
The uniform replaces the cream Mariners throwback alternate uniforms, and the M’s will wear these for all 13 home Sunday games.
Additionally, Seattle will donate $500,000 to the Steelhead Community Fund, which plans to help support Black-owned and operated baseball and softball organizations and community initiatives.
